At the corner of Pines Boulevard and 184th Avenue (less than a mile away) Silver Lakes Center, Chapel Trail Plaza and Shoppes of Silver Lakes sit facing one another and offering up between them a Publix grocery, Wal-Mart Super Center, Walgreens, Chase and Citi banks, Radio Shack and two shipping service centers, as well as resources for auto repair and maintenance, salon services, dry cleaning, insurance, veterinary care, fitness, dentistry and much more. These same shopping centers provide opportunities for a dinner out the whole family is sure to love. From Amazing Thai & Japanese Restaurant to Satinos Pizza and Pasta, Fuji Steakhouse and the local favorite Latin Café, there’s something for diners of all ages and preferences. National chains include IHOP, Pizza Hut and McDonalds.

Parks and Recreation

As if the location alone weren’t enough to sell you on Walden Lake (which is named for its large adjoining lake full of biting bass), this community also features a generous, nearly-four-acre, recreation area complete with a playground for the little ones, built-in barbecues, tennis courts a cabana and the neighborhood pool. Price features a playground, swimming pool, fitness trail and facilities for baseball, basketball and tennis as well as youth activities, including after-school programming and winter and spring break camps. Walden Lake is the western-most community in Pembroke Pines before the city gives way to the Everglades Wildlife Management Area. Schools, Health, Transportation

Public school children who call Walden Lake home will attend Sunset Lakes Elementary, Glades Middle or West Broward High schools. West Broward is well known throughout Broward County as one of the very best high schools in the area. There are also a number of private options including, the Montessori Academy of Broward right next door to Walden Lake and Cambridge Academy just about a mile and a half east. Pembroke Pines and Somerset Academy Charter Schools are also within a few miles. Another great resource very close by is Memorial Hospital Miramar which meets the need of students, families and retirees of all ages. With its ER, Family Birthplace, Pediatric Inpatient Unit, surgical services and U18 Sports Medicine department, Memorial Hospital Miramar is a major medical center located less than three and a half miles from the Walden Lake community.
