Keystone Lake Real Estate & Information

A Community in Pembroke Pines, Florida

About Keystone Lake

Driving along NW 184th Avenue in Pembroke Pines, you’ll see the gated entrance with a friendly guard on duty for the Keystone Lake community. You’ll see the 143-acre lake at the center of the community, probably with a few canoes or paddle boats making their way across. You’ll see more than 10 different styles of homes with varied floor plans to suit the unique needs of families young and old. You’ll see children playing safely in the community tot lot and families strolling down the sidewalks that line every street, but just as important as all of this are the sights you won’t see in Keystone Lake. You won’t see a community clubhouse or pool which could drive up your homeowners’ association dues. (Monthly HOA fees for Keystone Lake are some of the lowest around.) You won’t see (or hear) power boats chopping up the lake water or scaring fish or water birds away. You won’t see more community entrances than are needed. One manned, gated entrance and two automatic gates serve the Keystone Lake community very well. Add it all up, and the location, the resources, the security and the affordability equal the perfect choice for your next home.

Shopping and Dining

Everything you need for every day, or a special occasion, surrounds you in Keystone Lake including shopping and dining from the necessities, to novelties. Just a little north of the community, you’ll come upon Laguna Isles Plaza and Bergeron Plaza shopping centers which together resolve your grocery list, your cellular needs, your pets’ healthcare and much more. Family dentistry, barber/salon service, dry cleaning and insurance are a few more stops you can check off your list between these two. Mall shoppers can head to Pembroke Lakes Mall about five and a half miles east of the neighborhood. Head south instead on NW 184th Avenue, and you’ll soon find your way to the Wal-Mart Supercenter. If it’s a more upscale shopping experience you’re looking for, the Shops at Pembroke Gardens are just minutes away on the east side of I-75. Subway, Hong Kong Tokyo and Pedritos Café (serving Cuban cuisine) are located within the two shopping centers mentioned before. Add to those, Santino’s Pizza and Pasta, Doughboys Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant, Pollo Tropical and Flanigan’s Seafood Bar & Grill all within two miles of the Keystone Lake. While you’re here checking out the real estate listings, you’ll notice that national favorites, Diary Queen, IHOP, Wendy’s, Pizza Hut and Papa Johns are also nearby. You’ll also notice Keystone Lake is ideally located close to all these shopping and dining options, but far enough that the community doesn’t suffer from the noise or crowds associated with having these establishments right next door.

Parks and Recreation

Step just outside the neighborhood on Sheridan Street, and you’ll find Silver Lakes Park North with facilities for tennis and soccer. Within two miles, you can find Pembroke Shores, Rolling Oaks, Rose G Price (with a swimming pool) and Frontier Trails parks. Then, just five miles east of Keystone Lake, the 299 acres of C.B. Smith Park await, featuring family fun like Paradise Cove Water Park, a marina, concert green and miles and miles of hiking and biking trails, not to mention sports facilities and green space to spare. Of course, just stepping outside your front door in Keystone Lake will make you feel like you’ve stepped into a park. How many neighborhoods can boast a mile-long lake with sunset views to die for? No need to leave the neighborhood to go boating or fishing, and all of this within the security of this gated, planned community.

Schools, Health, Transportation

School age children living in Keystone Lake attend Chapel Trail Elementary, Silver Trail Middle or West Broward High schools. Silver Trail Middle School even sits right next to the northeast corner of the community at the intersection of Sheridan Street and 184th Avenue. And West Broward is well-known to be one of the best public high schools in southwest Broward County. Parents can also choose the Pembroke Pines Charter School which is part of the Academic Village just a short drive east of Keystone Lake on Sheridan Street. Florida International University, Broward College and the West Regional Library make up the rest of the Academic Village. Boasting as many convenient choices for healthcare as education, Keystone Lake has three hospitals under the Memorial Hospital umbrella available close by. Drive to either Memorial Hospital Miramar or Memorial Hospital West in less than 10 minutes, or travel to Memorial Hospital Pembroke in just 15 or so. Also the Miami Children’s Hospital Dan Marino Center is roughly four miles away from Keystone Lake providing services for children with special needs from birth to 21 years of age. The Weston R/S Corporate Lake route bus from Broward County Transit can bring you there. The extensive bus system extends throughout Broward County and beyond. It’s just one more reason to find your next home in Keystone Lake.
